FAQ's

There are no stupid questions, right? Here are some basics, if you're just tuning in!

Q: Where is Togo?
A: It's right here! Ghana's to the west, Benin is to the right, and Burkina Faso is to the north.

Q: Can you please tell me more about that tiny West African nation?
A: Not yet! Check it out on Wikipedia.


Q: What are you doing there?
A: I'll be working as a Peace Corps Volunteer, in the Education Sector, teaching English and Gender education. Did you hear about the Let Girls Learn initiative? I'll be doing a lot of that.


Q: How long are you going to be there? Can you come home?
A: I'll be there for 27 months - until September, 2017. I can come home, though it's quite expensive. We'll see!


Q: Are you going to get ebola? Are you going to get malaria? Are you going to have gastrointestinal problems?
A: No, probably not, and definitely.


Q: Can I email you? Can I call you? Can I write to you?

Email is great as well, though I don't often get on the internet. Phone is a little trickier, but we can and should definitely keep being friends. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?

Q: Can I help you out at all by sending you snacks, pencils, or other American treats?
A: You're so kind! Most definitely. I'm not sure of the logistics of this. I will update when I find out more about where to send packages and what kinds of things would be helpful.
